Received the following email at 1230 UK time today about my flight to Boston yesterday, though it may be intended to be about my return on Wednesday. :w :|

Not much use to me, but it may be of use to those who have flights in the near future. :D

Nick

UK airspace is now open and we are pleased to advise that we're operating a full service for passengers holding confirmed reservations.

As you hold a confirmed reservation for a Virgin Atlantic flight scheduled to depart on or after 23 April, we ask that you check-in in the normal way using our Online Check In facility or our Kiosk Check In at the airport.

Despite us working around the clock and with a significant increase in Customer Service staff, our Contact Centre is receiving very high call volumes resulting in considerable delays. By not telephoning the Contact Centre, this will keep as many of our Customer Service Agents as possible, free to help passengers who are stranded. If you require further information please visit our website at http://www.virginatlantic.com. If you are in possession of your booking reference or e-ticket number, you can check the details of your booking, including flight date and time, by going to 'My Booking'.

Should you wish to cancel or change your reservation, you will need to call our Contact Centre and we ask for your patience and understanding as we try to answer your call as soon as possible. Please be advised that changes or cancellations to confirmed reservations will be subject to normal change and amendment rules and fees for the fare booked.

We thank you in advance for your support as we seek to fly as many people home as we possibly can and we hope you enjoy your flight.

Yours Sincerely

Virgin Atlantic Airways

I got one of those too, Nick. regarding my trip to MCO on 3 May 10. What with things getting back to normal, and as I have a confirmed booking, I had no intention of 'telephoning the Contact Centre anyway. ?|

I got one too

On the plus side, I think what they are trying to convey is that unless absolutely necessary, please use the Interweb :D I think they desreve some marks for trying to be open

We tried to order kids meals for the 8th of May and get assistance. The poor person who we couldn't work out if they were male/female, couldn't understand. The wife tried, then I did to no avail.,

Nick - I think all airlines are tempting passengers to move their travel or even cancel it, to free up seats. I suspect that this is subtly trying to entice people ... that is if they are not going to fly, to let them know so that others can.

Have a great trip y) .

That may be true of the Florida routes, and those ex-US, but our BOS flight yesterday has 50+ empty seats in Y and lots in PE and Upper - and that was on a little 343. There can't be many east coast Americans desperate to return. :D
