Am flying on a seating config 2 747.

Do they open up rows 21-23 economy seats for Online checkin. Would like to reserve these seats for my flight back from Barbados - they not showing available yet?

Any tips on how to reserve them as they look nice a quiet just behind the upper class section.

Many thanks in advance for your replies

The small section just behind the downstairs PE cabin (there is a small downstairs PE section directly behind UC) does contain a bulkhead, so quite often you get families with babies in there

The few times I have done OLCI for family/friends flying in economy I haven't seen any seats in that cabin available at OLCI stage.

If no luck, then it would be worth asking at the airport for if any seats in that section are available as they might be able to move you.

I've flown in row 21 on a LGW/MAN 747 a few years ago. I was allocated the seat in advance by a friend at Virgin.

As Neil has said, there is a bulkhead in this cabin & bulkheads often = babies. In my case, I was in 21A and the couple in 21B+C had a baby with them & it made next to no noise either.

I also believe that Virgin like to use these rows to seat special needs passengers. This is partly because the seats are near the boarding door & also because the small cabin offers a degree of privacy - useful if you've got passengers with seriously ill children, which is often the case on MCO flights.

I also seem to remember on the high-capacity config 2, at least one of those rows of Economy (think it may have been 23HJK) didn't have IFE because it was more than the system could drive - so they'd leave those seat to be the last to be allocated, and then give DVD players if anyone ended up in them.

Can't remember if that was pre-SuperNova, so it may be out-of-date-info now.

Yep 23 HJK on ROS/GAL/LIP/ROY has no IFE but you get DVD players so you can start and stop your movies when you like unlike with the main NOVA IFE. These are the last 3 seats to be allocated.
