Off to Boston on the 9th of June for 4 days and just wanted some info on a couple of bits.

Possibly looking to get to a Red Sox game, and suggestions on best places to get some tickets? I've contacted the hotel concierge who said they can get through a ticket brokers, just wondered if there is a better deal out there?

Has anyone been to Wrentham Village Outlets? Just trying to decided whether it's worth a day out, I've been to Woodbury Common in NY, and just want to know if it's worth a trip. The cost to get there is pretty high at $40 per person (there's 4 of us) so was also wondering if it is worth renting a car for the day and driving myself. Is there any restriction on renting a car in the morning and returning later the same day? Any tolls, etc I need to be prepared for?

Cheers

There is quite a long thread about getting Red Sox tickets here. They are playing the Phillies while you are there in inter league play. They don't play them very often, so my guess would be, that tickets will be even harder to get then normal, but I wish you all the best.

Try the Redsox.com website first - distribution is handled by ticketmaster and you can print the tickets at home.

With regards to the shopping, I have never been to Wrentham, so can't comment, but if you are going to pay $160, you will have to get a lot of bargains to make it cost effective.

Personally, I would hire a car for a day and head up to Nashua, Manchester or one of the many other shopping destinations in tax free New Hampshire. Tolls are obviously route dependent, but IMHO it is better to pay the tolls, and get a fast, clear run on the pikes.

Just to echo what Nick said above....

I go and see friends in Manchester NH each yeah (VS011 !st july)
It is worth holding out and going to one of the mall's or outlet's in NH no tax is always good. and its not bad a drive to get to NH from Boston about a hour...

Anyway Enjoy your trip and hope you get to see a redsox game and do a bit of shopping....

Thanks for the input, the Stubhub seems the best bet if I can print tickets off straight away.. I think I'll discuss with the others regarding the prices, but the tickets on the day options looks good if we have time to queue.

Any suggestions for specific places in NH? Will there be any issues just renting a car for the day, and returning in the evening? If I get one of the gold/plat packages for the car, I won't even need to factor the cost of fuel as it will be return empty.
