Hi there, I've just joined V Flyer and wanted to say "Hi". I've never flown Virgin before and am taking an upper class flight to Cuba on 6th June 2010.

I'm well excited about it, but having never flown Virgin before I'd like to ask a couple of questions if I may:

1. Does anyone know what the menu's on the gatwick to Cuba flight are? I can't seem to find the menu's on the forum.

2. My travel agent has requested seats for me and my partner and I have been told that they have selected 16 and 17 K. Looking at the virgin website, this would appear to be a LHR seating config? Is this normal or will the seats change before we check in.

I heard lots of good feedback from friends about flying Virgin and am looking forward to it.

Thanks very much
TL

Hi and welcome to V-Flyer. I hope you enjoy your time with us.

To answer your questions:

1. The UC menu will in all probability gave changed before your flight as it changes every three months. Its next change is due on or around June 3rd so keep you eyes peeled. It will be the UK-USA menu

2. If you are in 16 and 17K it sounds like it will be a LHR configured plane. The best way to make sure is to use the My Booking link on the VS website. Get your 6 letter/number PNR from your travel agent and that will show you the seat maps

Enjoy your flight

Ok so, finally got ma booking ref from ma TA today and logged into my booking on the Virgin Website. So it says that the metal at the moment (could change i know) is a LHR config 3 747. Having checked the seating plan, it's all upper class on the upper deck, so have selected seats in the bubble :-).

Now that I can actually see ma booking online, it feels all the more real that I'm actually heading off to Cuba and in Upper Class. Can't wait :-)

Where are you going in Cuba? We really enjoyed it when we went a couple of years ago; I even did some dad dancing at a Buena Vista Social Club gig...

Get to the airport good and early to enjoy the Clubhouse - for me the holiday begins in the lift to private security - would be even earlier if I could ever fly J instead of Z and get a CDC to drive-in.

Havana is unique. Shame it's a few hours too far away - it would be a wonderful long weekend destination.

I don't know if you're a smoker - if you are, it will be heaven; if not, be prepared. :w

Whatever, in an increasingly homogeneous world, it's a place to see and experience.

Nestled in a strongroom alongside the latest interview with Lord Lucan and the film of the Area 51 autopsies.

The Cuba flights go from LGW so no private security channel.

You don't have to fly J to get a CDC. D and R fares also qualifies for a CDC
