There's a National Express coach service which runs very frequently during the day from Heathrow to Gatwick - takes about 1 hour 25 minutes. Taxi must be the fastest route, I would've thought, but probably considerably more expensive than the coach.

Depends if you want to risk the M25 or not.

There is the coach (about £19 I thing), Taxi (Think of a number, double it and multipy by the drivers IQ) or you can do Heathrow Express and Gatwick Express (about £38).

to echo what Darren said...

the coach is good :) done it a few times myself..... taxi a big no no.... and doing the two express trains, would mean a trip across London... depending what time of day and how many people could be possible but I would not do it.

Probably quickest to fly to CDG and then back to LGW

The coach service is good and depending on time of day then I think it should be ok. Having lived in Guildford and used the M25 between LHR and LGW many times I would say 80% of the time you can join and have no traffic problems at all. Clearly Friday from about 3pm (certainly going towards LHR) is a no, no and a Sunday evening from about 6pm going towards LGW is also a no, no.

Despite its bad rep, as I said, the majority of times I have jumped on the M25 at the A3 junction to head to the M23 I have had no problems whatsoever.

Another option, albeit long winded is, Coach to Woking Station, train to Guildford and then jump on the First Great Western Service to LGW.
