hey folks??

I'm flying to SVD this year, (that's st vincent barbados westery neighbour) So after flying virgin to BGI i am flying to SVD with "trusty" old LIAT. I'm not a great fan of the airport in barbados can i check my luggage to go straight to SVD in LGW?? or will i have to do all that needless buggering about in barbados that i JUST LOVE.

I used to be able to back in 1999 and 2002 the last time in flew virgin. unfortunatly due to being lazy with booking in time i've flown Ba in 2005 and 2008.

Some one please answer, i am travelling with granny, mum, dad, little sister and if we are lucky my little cousin too!!

i booked the whole thing at one time, previously i've only ever had one ticket that shows

vs029 10.20 arrive bgi 13.45
li737 17.30 arrive svd 18.20

or something like that....

i have to go to a specialist travel agent that deals with liat and book the whole thing there vigin then liat all in one go...

this may sound picky but booking both flights at the same time dosent necessarily mean they are on the same PNR.

I think you should contact VS and liat customer services to get chapter and verse but be prepared for a 'no can do'

Funnily enough, I would have said the same thing a few days ago; yet had the parents out to JFK on Tue on VS046, connecting with BA to Italy at LHR, walked them up to the counter prepared to do battle to through check the cases for elderly folks, bla bla, very nice and professional agent at the UC counter asked supe if it was OK, came back immediately with a Yes and was no problem. I was stunned, and grateful, TBH. I suspect there is policy, there are stations with their own policies, and there are supes and check-in agents with yet again their own. Probably helped that they had a nice, long connecting time, so no real issue with bags getting lost.

At SFO they've been extremely unhelpful with this for a very long time.

I've had my bags checked through from most of the stations in the US as well as HKG and NRT. There doesn't seem to be a problem from there but I've not been able to through-check from LHR unless my onward flight is on the same PNR. I suspect it will be the same from LGW
