Hi,

I have booked UC seats for a flight to Orlando this July, this will be our first time in UC, and will be a suprise to my wife (unless she has seen my Amex statement). :|

I have read somewhere about ordering spa treatments, is this the case at LGW or just LHR? If so, do I need to book in advance, and again if so, how?

We are staying at the Gatwick Hilton the night before, so will be there early enough to make the most of the clubhouse....Is there anything else I need to know?

Many thanks,

Bruce

There's no booking for appointments now, as soon as you arrive go and see if there is space available. The basic ones are free, the enhanced ones not.

The new clubhouse is a very nice retreat away from the madness of the terminal.

Everything else (drinks and food) is free. The portions are a little on the small side, but if you are hungry just order another one.

There are free pc's to use as well as numourous tv's dotted around and a guy that will shine your shoes.

Showers are also available.

enjoy

its only 1 "free" treatment per person. any others you will have to pay for and they only take plastic for payment.
I was there just over a week ago and spent about 6 hours in there. Very relaxed and quiet and the food was excellent along with the service.

6 hours in Gatwick CH is a very long time, theres not much to do in there compared to Heathrow CH. And the limited food menu is all breakfast items

If that's the same one who was there in 2006, I had a long chat with him and he's a really nice fella. y)

I experienced the 'new' LGW CH a couple of weeks back after using the 'old' CH before.

The CH was much quieter, I was told they are being more stringent on restricting numbers of paying guests, not sure how correct that is but it was most definitely quieter.

I had a paid treatment, despite my originally posting my disgust at having to pay lol, however, the price for the treatment was very competitive and the treatment itself superior to the free treatments so I was happy - I had an arm/hand massage and nail tidy.

Foodwise I just had cereal, a couple of bellinis and herbal tea. I was travelling 'solo' and felt very comfortable indeed in the new CH.
