The menu changes ex-UK on 1 June. The new inbound menu from the USA has already started from some stations.

And yes the rumour is true. :)

Hmmm...

The inbound menu was different on my flight on Saturday. They offered an express supper tray or a Hot supper tray (I think it was called that, memory is blurring even now!)

I got the impression from seeing the express tray in passing that it was a cold salad but I could be mistaken.

I had a Beef in a sauce dish, with some vegetables, with my hot supper tray - no starter but a very nice side salad. Cheese and biscuits for afters.

My flight was overnight so maybe that was why it was different.

Yes, I can happily confirm that the cake stand is making a welcome return to UK-US flights come June.

Slight pain that it'll only be on flights departing after midday, so flights like VS5 or 7 will miss out.

Not true - it will be available on flights where afternoon tea is served. So these are VS1, VS3, VS5, VS7, VS9, VS11, VS19, VS21, VS23, VS39 and VS45.

We came back from the States last weekend and they were serving the new menu desserts - even the crew did not know this until they had already taken orders and then discovered that the desserts were different - they were bread & butter pudding and custard and a cheesecake (think it was mango or something like that). The cheesecake was good but the bread and butter pudding had virtually no fruit in so just tasted like soggy bread.

Glad to hear about the cake stand though!

That's odd - just seen Tink's other thread with the new UC inbound menu and clearly the desserts we were served were not, as advised, from the new menu - the new desserts do look very nice!
