I wonder why - have to say I love poking around in the database for oddities, came across:

VS981 GRZ-LHR 2010-05-26 16:15 18:17
VS0009981 LHR-GRZ 2010-05-26 13:04 14:50

Presumably a charter, anyone know for what?

Yes, it was for the England training camp in Austria, VS also flew them to a second training camp there later in May as one of the CC on our outbound to LAX was going to be working it.

Ah... I saw the destination Graz on the departure board in the Lounge (I was there on the 17th) and was wondering at the time whether it was a codeshare / new destination.

Didn't see any footballers though - but then again they could walk past me in the street. I seem to have this allergy to watching the stuff. Am shuddering at the thought of the next month...:w

A 343 is a bit overkill isn't it ... guess the FA is rolling in money, a BA Airbus 320 would have done!

Now must search for how they got back 8D .

Will VS be flying back to blighly the one who just got injured and his replacement out to South Africa?

VS won the contract to be the official carrier for the FA replacing BA. One would imagine slinky that the price given by VS was better than the BA flight despite the use of a 340.

Tonty-yep I would imagine that VS will be flying both players in and out. Unless of course the injury to the knee means Rio needs more space than the UCS can provide.

He hurt his knee? Given the news headlines etc I thought it was much more serious and hed chipped a nail or damaged his hair.

Suppose he could always get a couple of duvets and bed down in the area at the front :w :w :w

According to Sky News reporter who was on the flight and I quote "Micheal Dawson boarded my flight last night and settled down into his upper class bed and slept most of the way"

Regardless of if he was in PE (which I would be surprised about given that the FA have been very particular with VS about service etc) it was a great bit of free advertising if one realised UC = VS.
