JFK Clubhouse

Hi,

I have been stalking v-flyer for a while now and I finally have my own question to ask,

What time is the Clubhouse at JFK open from and to?
I have heard rumours that it closes before all VAA flights have left...

I can't seem to find any info on the VAA website, and i tried to search here but with no luck.

Don't have exact times but it will stay open until the last flight has left which is scheduled for 22.30

Check in opens at 14.40 so CH will open then too.

It is rather daft of VS not to have this info on the CH pages of the website.

It closes when all the pax for the last VS flight - the VS10 I believe - have left. I was on a delayed VS10 last October (delayed by over an hour) and when we left the Clubhouse some of the staff were all but waiting with their coats on to go home.

It's a great Clubhouse - good service & great views of the airport. The only drawback is that it is landside, but I guess Virgin had to take the space that they were offered. The landside location probably helps the staff get away earlier too, as they have to factor in time for the pax to get past the TSA checkpoint. If it was airside you'd have some pax propping up the bar until the very last call for boarding.

With it being landside, is there any priority through security, and how soon before the flight would you leave the clubhouse?

The flight will be called from the Clubhouse. There will be two calls then a final call.

There is a priority line for security at JFK but it feeds into the main security area so in reality all you do is a bit if queue-jumping if the main line is long.

I was on the VS 10 last month which was delayed until after 2am when the ash cloud closed UK airspace briefly. Clubhouse stayed open. Staff very good and were serving until boarding. Better than any other lounge in terms of service inc Heathrow, Gatwick and SFO.
