I would think it is, but if I were travelling in the hold I would probably wear a warm hat, so hair spray would not seem to be necessary. ii)

Hairsprays no problem, now nail varnish/polish is! Well for me anyway! On 3 occasions my small bottles have either somehow evaporated or cracked and contents disappeared or messed up my other toiletries in a carefully packed washbag! I now have to wrap them in lots of tissue and pack in plastic bags.

Personal Care Items OK as long as they are not too big or there are too many:
Personal Care Items containing
hazardous materials (e.g., flammable
perfume, aerosols) totaling no more than
70 ounces may be carried on board.
Contents of each container may not
exceed 16 fluid ounces.

Note this does not cover any other aerosols!

The adivce from the cosmetically minded in the family is to use cling film. Particularly around any "wet wipe" type of things...
