I've been checking performance of this flight and so far it hasn't left on time, typically between 1 and 2 hours late :(!

Why is this? they know the schedule, all they need to do is get the plane up from Manchester in plenty time. Also on VS website, it states that OLCI is currently unavailable, again, why would that be? (intend calling VS on that one), my real question for the experts on here was over the lateness.

I'm due to take this flight on the 25th of June, my flight is the first for a while where there is a flight coming in from MCO first (VS072), will this make a difference to the on-time performance?

Sorry, lots of questions and a bit of a rant, any explanations would be greatly appreciated.

Ok Planes can be late for all sorts of reasons and not all are down to the airline.

The plane that goes to GLA from MAN could be late into MAN from its inbound journey which knocks on to the departure from GLA.

There may be problems at MAN re the airport being busy and that delays its departure to GLA etc Ditto GLA might not be able to take in the MAN flight.

Another reason could be that some of your fellow passengers feel that boarding times dont apply to them and turn up at the gate late. If there is a decision to deny them boarding then there will need to be a search for their luggage and that takes time.

There may also be difficulties at MCO that may force the delay of the departure from GLA.

There are all sorts of reasons why OLCI isn't working. Where does it say on the VS website that it is unavailable - I couldn't see anything on the front page. Given that yor flight isn't for a couple of weeks its a tad early to be contacting VS about it.

As to the 72 in becoming your 71 out then yes it should help in having an on-time performance but that would depend on it srriving to time !

Having seen the VS71P arrive & VS71 depart it would appear that the aircrafts late arrival at GLA from MAN/LGW is nearly always to blame. It's obviously a tight window to operate to (VS71P STA 12.35 - VS71 STD 14.05), with many factors that can make leaving MAN/LGW on time difficult & there's no way you can make up the time on a 40 minute flight.

The VS72/VS71 turnaround days will be much more likely to go on time as the aircraft is at GLA for over 4 1/2 hours.

Why should that be the case - check in @ GLA not wired into the matrix?

May be because it's not the starting point for the journey? Though why VS can't do it when other airlines can ...

OK, I've just called VS call center on the OLCI issue, no further forward though. Initially she told me there was no problem with OLCI from Glasgow and it is open today. When I pointed out the page on the website stating it is not available, she backtracked and said that it's not available just now but may be for my flight next week.

Looks like i just need to get to the airport early to get the seats I want, (could be a long wait at the airport referring back to lateness issue :D )

Just to let you know VS are using T2 at GLA for check in this summer as there are not enough desks available at that time of day in the main building!

Would have been on time today, but a Thomas Cook A330 went tech that was using the designated B744 parking bay. 5-10 minute delay waiting for another stand to be made available.
