My Waitrose / Shell purchases are doubling automatically, as are my EZY flights (at last! Some benefit!) and even my bookings at b&b's in obscure parts of Oregon. But not Hilton...more emails will be exchanged.

I did a manual earnings enquiry with Quidco as soon as I was able to after the 30 days. They messaged asking for the card type(!) but after a few weeks I followed up with a message asking the status. This is the reply I got:

"Hi,

We expect a resolution from the network within sixty days of having all the required information to be able to submit your enquiry.

All required information was received by us on 20 May 2010. If we do not receive a resolution within 60 days of this date we will automatically approve your enquiry."
--------

This makes me think it is Amex to blame rather than quidco? All my other cashbacks have tracked almost straight away. I had to remind Amex as well reagrding the 20k and double miles, but they replied promply and say it is in hand and will be done withnint the next week.... :?

Amex have told me that "travel spend" does not encompass the Hilton brand, so no double points. B*gger. They did, however, throw some points my way as compensation for "incorrectly setting my expectations".

They gave me a £20 good will credit as they have been useless from the start, so as long as I get the cashback, 20k points for £15 is not bad.

I saw on the flyer talk thread that there are some exclusions so no double miles from TFL for oyster card purchases and that M&S 'simply foods' are also excluded unless you buy petrol as well (no good for me bening carless!)

I will wait for my next bill to see if they give me my 20k and double miles automatically before chasing up otherwise they can expect a phone call. I mean how hard is it to set some rules / parameters into their systems?

You can check if you are getting double points by clicking where it says "Your membership rewards points balance is:" and then click on My Points.

In which aisle is the fuel at the Simply Foods outlet on St Pancras? :D I know my other half has in the past voiced the opinion that their diet cola tastes like petrol...

I've just had a message from Quidco to say that my Earnings Enquiry has been successful and that I will be getting the £60 casback as soon as they receive it from Amex.

Same here. Quidco posted as 'validated' today and when I spoke to Amex today to chase the 20,000 they said they were loaded on the system but will only be released after my '3 months from £500 spend' point which is in two weeks :)

Thanks for all the advice folks y)

Just spent 30 frustrating mins on the phone with AMEX (proper AMEX not MBNA AMEX!)

Paid my bill tonight then tried to check my reward balance.

Except I couldn't as it wanted me to register my card. Bit strange as I'd already done that and only checked the balance at the weekend.

Then I noticed that the card number was different from mine (plus they wanted an extra £20+ to enrole into MR despite the fact I'd already paid £ 95). Also noticed that my address details were 'missing' from the account too.

I then re-checked the main account screen then noticed that was for the different card number. PANIC ! had my account been hacked and I'd just paid someone elses bill?

So phoned them and eventually got a human.

Initially no idea of what happened but a new card on the way - the system had decreed it so but the system refused to reveal why.

Much putting on hold etc.

Told him I not asked for a new card but at least he confirmed my payment was going to the right account.

Put on hold several times then speak to someone at 'head office'. This new chap says new card on way. I said I hadn't asked for one. Repeat etc

He asked if I'd contacted them recently. Reiterated (as I'd explaiend to first chap) the only thing was I'd sent a message about missing 20k bonus and double spend miles at the weekend. The only reply was that they would look at it.

It turns out that AMEX had made a mistake when initially creating my account which explains why no automatic 20k bonus spend miles OR double miles on purchases ! This also means a new card. But had they bothered to communicate this? NO!

So I will now have the bother of updating all the on-line accounts I have - paypal, amazon etc etc - with these new card details just as I'd finished updating them all for the first card!

Anyway letter of explanation is on its way. Depending what it says I will follow it up. If this bu**ers my quidco cashback then I will definitly be taking this a lot further.

SO, if you partook of this offer and have yet to automatically get your bonus miles etc despite spending the appropriate amounts please watch out for this as you might be affected too.

Bringing back ancient history by resurrecting this old thread but I have only just been credited with my 20000 rewards after a third series of messages to Amex and took a similar number to nail down the Quidco cashback. All the same 20000 rewards for £35 - thanks to AndyK.

Hope this might act as reminder to my fellow v-flyers who may have forgotten the rewards were due.

Now what to do with the rewards? Touching 200K Flying Club miles right now so might be better looking elsewhere to redeem them.

Thanks DocRo

That reminded me. I've just had my third bill from AMEX Gold, and sure enough there's no 20000 bonus. So I've rung CS, and they're 'puzzled' why I haven't been credited.
So they're starting a manual investigation and will write to me within 7 days

As to the Quidco cashback, I've been told not to expect anything before Xmas !
