Does anyone know what time it opens? I guess when check-in opens, which will be 4 hrs before the flight ... but if earlier I could get in with my BP if I print it ...

Slinky,

I was in there just after 3pm ish when I used it in May and there was only one person in before me... Don't you need the invite issued by check in though?

Last time I was there I was through immediately after check-in opened and it was in use by SAA passengers who left shortly afterwards

I always got in at SF when I arrived a bit early before check in opened to do some quiet work, and they had the Aer Lingus flight on. They usually already had a provisional pax manifest, so could see I was on and it was no problem going in even without my BP. No idea whether they would be equally sensible at IAD.

It was open 4 hrs before, thanks all.

MarkedMan - your approach works when the clubhouse is pre-security. At IAD it's not only post security but then a train ride to the next terminal thing!

Although the tunnel is still open and according to the VS station manager at IAD it is much quicker to walk than take the train as the train deposits you a fair old hike from the VS gate/CH where as the tunnel exits pretty much right on top of the VS gate.

Certainly the whole security area is much improved since it moved downstairs following the opening of the train.
