Night-Flight.

This is a report of my first flight with Virgin Atlantic. I had previously booked a PE seat with an E return. That return was upgraded to a PE based on this flight experience and will be reviewed later.

We arrived at IAD well before our flight was due, and found out that the incoming flight had been delayed over 50 minutes. However, we were told to still be at the gate at the same time. Disappointed in the ground staff for not updating their sign to notify folks that the incoming flight was significantly delayed. I've rated them very poorly for this because this seems to be a basic oversight. I knew about the delay because of V-Flyer's Apps on my I-Touch. Flyers were finally notified 20 minutes after the expected arrival time of the inbound flight had passed.

That is about the only bad thing about the trip.

The flight itself was quite smooth. When we boarded we were very welcomed with pre-flight champagne and mimosas. I think I had two before we took off. It is quiet nice to be seated first and able to relax, and I chuckled about the flight attendants blocking passengers to serve us drinks. That may be a bad thing.

There were crying kids in E and I don't think many were able to doze in that section due to that disturbance. With the curtains pulled and the bulkheads the sound was muffled enough to not be very audible in PE.

The In Flight Meal was a chicken dish, decent grub that I wouldn't reject from a restaurant. The wine was good, and I enjoyed the after dinner cognac. I asked for a nightcap of scotch and promptly received a nice Glen Livet 18 year Scotch glass. Very satisfied.

Movie offerings were decent but since this was a night flight I was more interested in dozing. Really liked the recline and plushness of the PE seat. I got about 3 hours of good doze time which is a big accomplishment for myself as I never sleep when flying.

I felt the seat size worked well (my wife and I are normal sized folks (not dainty nor big) but I am 6 foot 1 so legroom is an issue for me. The legroom was good but I could have stood for another 2 inches (which I got on the way back).

Thanks for the TR y) y)

I think this is the second time I read in a TR, that Pete's V-Flyer has proveda better information source than a down line VS source :w

Looks like the crew were on the ball

Thanks once again
