After a relatively smooth journey we arrived at LHR T3 - we were very early for our flight so asked about moving to an earlier one. Unfortunately we had the wrong type of business ticket. We headed up to security and used the fast track lane. This was a bad mistake - the queue was long, people had lots of bags and the staff were very slow. To top it all, so little girl tried to take a toy that looked like a gun. It was confiscated but delayed us more. The "slow lane" next to us must have seen three times the number (very bad show BAA!).

After a little shopping we headed to the lounge. The usual glass of champagne was ordered and we settled in for an early self-service lunch. Relaxed and the time seemed to fly by (helped by the subsequent white wine that seemed much better than normal!).

Headed off to the usual bus gate once boarding was called and waited a short while. Boarding was straight forward and club had only 10 people in a five row cabin.

Took off on time and drinks were offered - champagne of course! Food option was prawn salad (cold) or chicken stuffed with aubergine wrapped in ham on polenta (hot). There were only 5 hot meals available on an evening flight (bad show BA). We opted for the hot option (row 1 so lucky) - ok! Service was by the purser - very flamboyant person!

During the flight we tried to get additional drinks - we had to ask as there was a minimal service provided in BA (the crew were more interested in chatting behind the curtain than serving the passengers) (Poor show BA crew). Even when we you asked for a drink it took ages as you were interruptinh their conversation

Arrived on time which was good.

Over all an ok flight but several let downs along the way and the crew really could do with some retraining on customer service!

Thanks for the TR - I was getting the impression that BA had raised their game but clearly not enough in your case. v(
