Should I delay my car pick up to use revivals?

So, for the first time I actually have an upper flight planned (I have upgraded using miles at the airport before), so I can actually plan when my car picks me up.

Is it worth visiting revivals off VS20 (I have 1 1/2 hours to get home from the airport by car), and if so, what sort of time should I ask the car to pick me up - I suppose it depends on what time the plane actually lands...

How far away is your car? What notice does your driver need?
When I use the Purple Parking meet'n'greet, I make it clear when I book that I will be using revival.

I usually ring them from there after I have eaten breakfast, and they give me an ETA. It is always best to be outside waiting because T3 is not the easiest place for drivers to hang about waiting to pick up / hand over the car.

Oh, sorry, slightly confusing - I have a taxi pick me up and drive home - so I need to give him a time in advance of roughly when I will be ready - Generally I just say meet me from the VS20 landing at 11:05 and they know what to do ...

Okay - how about saying that you want them to set off to pick you up an hour or an hour and a half after they would normally do?

It depends what you want to do in revivals - if you just want breakfast, then it is a short stay, if you want a shower it will be longer and if you want to go the whole hog and have a treatment as well, then it will be longer still.

Could you give the taxi firm your mobile number, and have them ring you when they are close to LHR, or even outside at T3?

if its your first time in UC & you don't have to be anywhere in a hurry i'd say go to revivals just to complete the whole experience. To be honest the lounge is nothing fancy in itself - nothing like the clubhouse - but it is nice to be able to get off that overnight flight & get a freshly cooked brekkie & a shower if you want it. the showers are excellent & spotlessly clean, you get a whole bathroom to yourself.

from experience i'd say allow yourself 30 minutes minimum in revivals if you just want breakfast, 45 mins if you also want a shower

plus if you do use revivals it means you can sleep longer on the plane

How far do they have to come from? So you could ring them on landing and then arrange a time there and then.

There is something to be said for having the 'full' UC experience but to be honest as nice as it was to have a shower and some breakfast I much prefered to be on my way home.

I am with Tonty on this one - not a fan of revivals myself and much prefer to get straight into the car and head home but then again I do live in London. The only time I use it is when flying with family that have a car ordered to take them home to Yorkshire so they want/need to freshen up first.

It is also worth remebering that unlike the clubhouse revials closes at a certain time (I dont recall when) and when I said closes it certainly does - when we arrived from Miami last year we were informed we could use it for 15 mins but then would have to vacate - enough time for my sister to have a quick shower but all the beakfast had gone.

For us it's part of the treat of going UCS (as it's not the kind of thing we do regularly). It also allows me to build in a time buffer in respect of the cab (which has to come down from East Anglia) to mitigate the potential cost of them standing around waiting for a delayed flight; so if on time, Revivals, if delayed, straight to cab.

Have them do what they usually do re checking the landing time and just ask them to add 45 mins onto the normal amount of time they leave... simple. Then have a nice treatment some breakfast and a shower. I find it a good way to start the day and it also means more sleep on the plane.
