The journey took exactly an hour door to door, so I was getting out of the cab at T3 at 08:00 - Lisbon is one of those unfortunate short-haul flights that goes from T3. Picked up boarding card from the machine and then off to security. Again as per my experiences less than a week before, fast track security was a nightmare (at least this time all of the security was slow) and I waited nearly 15 mins to get through (the person I travelling with who arrived an hour later was through in less than 3 minutes - typical).
Once through there was a separate door open straight ahead - avoided any chance of showing passport etc. Brief stop at Boots to pick up travel toiletries and the off to BA lounges (person I was travelling with is gold, but I had to use the club lounges until he arrived). Relatively quiet and just used the computer. Once he arrived, popped next door to the First lounge. Breakfast offerings were pretty much the same (apart from champagne being out as usual and also warmed muffins in the self-service area). The restaurant was also open with a menu - opted for beans on toast.....got one piece of dry toast and a second piece of dry toast just about covered with beans (really poor show as didn't realise how expensive baked beans were and that BA were trying to save money on them!).
Wandered off to gate once boarding came up to find for a change that the first bus had already departed. Once on board stowed bags overhead and settled in for wait until time to push back - delayed by the lack of a tug (different excuse to BCN experience of lack of tow bar!). Pushed back late and then longish taxi to take off.
Once airborne, we were offered brunch. The flight was scheduled to leave at 10:10 and so wasn't quite sure what to expect. Anyway it consisted of a plate with 2 slices ham, half slice tomato, 2 slices cucumber, 2 slices cheese (rolled up), a yoghurt and some bread from the basket. It tasted not bad but was an odd selection (eurotraveller got a sandwich). No alcohol consumed on this flight - just diet coke and water.
Flight passed quickly as we were working. Arrived in a new area of Lisbon airport and had a very very long walk to passport control - used the facial recognition lanes for a change rather than interacting with a real person.
Overall a typical BA club europe flight, but a slightly odd selection of food offered on the route.
