K Fare cancellation

It is looking increasingly likely that, due to ill health my travel companion will have to cancel our PE M+M K fare in August to LAS

I will still be flying

However, I have checked our e-ticket and can find nothing on it pertaining to cancellation, should the condition worsen

Any advice appreciated

The main fare conditions for K are here

Unfortunatly K tickets are not refundaable (other than the taxes) but some changes e.g. a date are possible (for a fee)

Hopefully your friend has travel insurance to cover the rest of the ticket costs if they ultimatly unable to makr the trip.

On non-refundable tickets the fuel surcharge is now also non-refundable.
This means that an economy ticket will usually only get about GBP90 of tax back (less if your travel agent charges an admin fee to do it)

From the VS website:

4.3.2 Miles Plus Money changes and upgrades

a) Tickets are non refundable. However changes may be possible at applicable charges. Date changes can be made at a charge of GBP50 per ticket per change for changes in the UK, US$75 for changes in the US or local currency equivalent of US$75 for changes in any other region. The original booked class must be available and maximum/minimum stay requirements must be adhered to.

There have been instances documented on here about non-refundable tickets being refunded by VS in light of serious illness. It may well be worth checking with VS directly

Change and cancellation fees are:
"WAIVED FOR ILLNESS OR DEATH OF PASSENGER OR FAMILY MEMBER."

You will need documentation to this effect.
