This flight mostly met my expectations of the PE experience, as judged against many previous flights.
Some specific points though.
Although the leather seats are cooler and firmer (both of which I like), I don't think that the actual way in which the seat reclines and the position of the foot rest attached to the back of the seat in-front are as comfortable as the LGW PE seats. Hard to put my finger on it, but for me, 6ft tall, I just couldn't get quite as comfortable and relaxed as I can in the LGW PE cabin.
Also, there is something special about being "in the bubble" in PE on those LGW planes as well, missed that a little.
Overall, flight was up to the standards I expect now from VS, got top ups on pre-takeoff drinks, coffeees etc on request. Top ups were not offered, but were provided on request without any apparent reluctance.
Nice touch by the cpt who made specific announcement to those at the back about the temporature, explaining that once engines were started, the aircon would soon reduce the temp - I thought that was quite a nice touch.
Cabin crew were helpful and curteous, and made special efforts with my 8-year-old daughter which was well appreciated all round.
Take off was very long, plane was about 80% full, and was clearly a flex take off. Is it just me that misses the old fassioned max power take offs and the kick in the back?! Yeah, I know, it's greener and kinder to engines etc, but I do still miss that real acceleration.
All in all, pleasant flight, very professional service and uneventful.
Feedback welcome on this, my first trip report.
