Hello All,
I am in need of a little advice if possible please :)
Myself, the significant other half and my in laws are off to sunny Florida in November for a few weeks. We caught a real bargain in the last sale, bagging Y seats for £389 pp (M+M)which is pobably the cheapest I have ever seen so was well chuffed with my little self.
My niece has now decided that she wants in on the action and so imagine my surprise when I learned there are now no M+M fares available on the dates that we are travelling, despite there being stacks of seats available both out and return. A normal ticket is coming in at £552 which, reluctantly I am prepared to pay however, and here's my dilemma, Do I go ahead and book it now at the inflated price or do I hold off in the hope that there may be another sale?????? or that the MPM fare reduces somehow.
Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated as always oo)

Regards,

NOC

Personally, if she really wants to go, I'd book it. It sounds like you've paid less than you were expecting for the seats you have, so effectively you have a bit of mental credit there. Think of the price you paid as being discounted from the norm, with the current price being the norm rather than "inflated".

If it was a situation where you might take the trip if prices fell then maybe you could wait; but you are committed to the trip and prices may well rise.

Sales aren't that likely given the mess BA are currently in, and the last sale was anything but amazing.

Generally it is a given, that prices will only go up the closer to the flight you get as the cheaper fare buckets sell out and you are only left with the more expensive fare buckets. Plus, you also run the risk of the flight selling out and then you really are stuck.

I think pjh has it spot on with his summing up of your situation. You paid less than you were hoping to for most of your tickets, so having to pay a bit more for one more still leaves you better off.

don't forget that even though there maybe plenty of seats on sale there will only be a limited number of MPM fares available on any particular flight and once they go they go.

I would book it.

If you delay you may save some money.

On the other hand you may pay more money OR you may upset somebody........
