i'm sat comfortably in the recently re-vamped BMI 'London Room' domestic departure lounge at T1 Heathrow, & very nice it is too. The lounge is pretty much the same layout as was but its been completely re-decorated with all new furniture & bathrooms, plus almost too-muted lighting. the only addition to the food on offer is a couple of cereals but overall its a nice, quiet lounge to spend an hour or so.

anyhoo, on to the main TR. Got to the lounge with a couple of hours to spare, no thanks to the Virgin limo which failed to turn up v( After 30 minutes waiting i rang virgin to find out that the agent who took the booking had never actually placed it with the limo firm. Luckily a quick call to a local cab firm had me on my way for the 40 minute drive to Newark 15 minutes later. Not a great start.

As mentioned on another post, hand luggage only meant i could check in at the club house wich is really handy, although there were no queues at premium checkin anyway. i'd only used the Newark lounge once previously for a morning flight out & bakc then it was really busy. This time it was much more relaxed with the staff being very attentive in keeping drinks topped up. The meal was ok but not really to my taste - turkey fillet with a balsamic sauce & some herby pasta/rice type stuf.

I went to the gate early through a deserted security & was prety much first to board. With boarding through the forward door & me in D1 i got to watch everyone boarding & got plenty of glances from passengers wondering why i was dressed like a ninja :P Once the doors closed we pushed back pretty much immediately & were in the air in no time. A bit of a bouncy climb meant a slight delay to the seatbelt signs switching off but once they did i was straight to bed. Only issue on board was that the forward toilet was out of action which meant the other 2 by the bar were extra busy. it felt like no time had passed before the lovely & very welsh ***** was waking me for breakfast ):

The Heathrow gremlins struck yet again on landing this morning - first the usual air traffic stole our early arrival, then despite this the gate we were due to arrive at had an empty plane stood on it & no tug available to tow it away. After an annoying 20 minute wait we got onto stand & de-planed.

Luckily this still gave me 2 hours for my connection to Manchester - not quite enough for a visit to Revivals but as mentioned the BMI domestic lounge isn't a bad option so after a relaxed 30 minute stroll from T3 to T1 here i am waiting for the last leg of my trip home. Lets hope the Limo is there this time! y)
