Changing Flights - Help please

OK first the good news, my son has got a place at his second choice university studying architecture next year .

Now the bad news, the term dates for the second choice are different from his first choice and it looks as though he will have exams in the first week of January which put our Xmas trip in jeopardy.

Now the questions.

We're flying on reward tickets. I know we can change these, subject to availability, but it will cost us some miles. My son and his friend are traveling on X tickets so if I'm correct we can change these for a fee. Is this correct?

We also have internal flights booked with Continental, outbound is H inbound is S so I'm not sure what our options are there. Can you help?

The choices seem to be rearrange the dates over Xmas or delay the trip until next year - September time.

What do you think our best options are?

Firstly congrats on Miopyk Jr on his results.

X tickets (according to th fare guide) are changable but are restricted and changes attract a fee. Have a look at the detailed T&Cs

Not sure about the tickets on CO though, again its a case of checking the T&C

But the first thing I'd do it try and get chapter and verse re the term and exam dates.
