As I just wanted a bed (and so wasnt bothered with lounges etc) I used the Four Points by Sheraton. Was clearly an old hotel that had been upgraded but it did the job very well. Clean, comfortable, efficient and friendly staff. However I did only stay for about 10 hours.

I stayed at the LAX Westin back in May - that was good, but if you fancy something a bit different, and still within 15 minutes of the airport - stay at Santa Monica - there's more to do there overnight than just eat and sleep. Just an idea -a cab is $25 each way. I've done that a few times, it's miles more fun. Miles. Hah! Geddit? Ok, I'll go now.............

Santa Monica usually means travelling on the I-405 to/from LAX which when you are in a hurry is never a good idea - half the time the traffic is worse than the M25! Any of the airport hotels is a better option than this.
