No, it will be fine. Its certainly a good idea to have a copy of the photo page somewhere safe.

It's also a good idea to scan it and email yourself a copy, so you can retrieve it if the worst happens and you lose everything.

In the leaflet I just had from the IPS with my new passport it specifically sugegsts taking a phtocopy of the ID page
