Drive Thru Check-In at LGW

Hi all -

I'm flying to MCO in 4 weeks in UC, and usually get to use Drive Thru at LHR - part of the 'experiment'. Has anyone successfully requested being able to utilise Drive Thru check-in at LGW without buying a full fare ticket. I will be travelling in a (arranged through the VA website) TriStar car (as we get FC miles with them - keep it in the family!). Any thoughts/experiences?

Pretty sure the drive thro check in at Gatwick stopped a few months/years ago. Something to do with BAA construction I think.

I am sure someone will be along to confirm/deny this shortly.

Mrs Buns and I last used the LGW DTCI back last December (thanks Miles )

The "Drive Thru" Station was located on the first floor of the Car Park with Tickets and Baggage tags being issued there before we walked across to the Terminal and through to Security.

Cannot comment on whether anyone has been able to gain access at LGW, but I did phone FC last month just prior to my UC Trip to JFK and they were able to arrange for access - albeit that we were using Tristar, so that may have helped

Thanks David & Buns I shall give FC a call and see if they can do anything. It's ages since I flew through LGW, and I remember Drive Thru check-in being a separate building outside the terminal, not on the first floor of the car park - sounds like there have been significant changes since I was last there!
