So, up at silly o'clock for a 0500 hrs check in (0700 takeoff) following yet another great overnighter at the Radission, Manchester airport. Having checked in our bags the night before - if Thomson can do this, would it be beyond the realms of possibility for VS to run a trial ?

- we were straight through security in no time and were soon breezing into the T2 concourse. A full English at Frankie and Benny's would while away the time before departure, or so we thought, until we spotted the information screen advising a revised takeoff of 0915

. OK, c'est la vie, a (much) more leisurely breakfast followed by a browse in WH Smiths and duty free it was to be.
Regular readers may recall the debacle from a trip report to Cyprus for Christmas when we had a 11-ish hour wait ON THE TARMAC. Surely this delay couldn't be as bad as that. Actually no, it wasn't but, long story short, we actually had a 5 hour delay, but we were the luckly ones. Apparently the scheduled 767 had gone tech and the 757 replacing it meant that the last 80 passengers to check in were plonked onto coaches, one of which went to Gatwick and one to Newcastle for onward transportation to Cyprus

.
Eventually us lucky ones (

) took off at 1159 for what was to be a very uneventful, yet pleasant, flight, punctuated only by the pilot's frequent (and very well informed) commentary en route. I'm beginning to think it must be us as even our last VS flight was 45 mins late taking off.
Our next scheduled trip is on VS 75 on 16 May 11 -
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
