When I used to try to book a companion reward flight on the VS website, if the dates I chose had no availability it would say so and then show a 'calendar' where there was availability.

Admitedly if you then selected dates off that it would tell you to call VS.

However that calendar doesn't seem to be there now - does anyone know a better way to search availability other then try each date individually?

The calender only comes up when there are close alternative dates with availability, if there isn't any availability within a couple of weeks it just returns a 'no flights available' message.

Really, the easiest and most accurate way to check is to give VS a call. They will be able to check a range of dates and let you know where the availability is.

Neil is certainly correct.

I recently managed to book reward flights to Orlando via the Premier phone line that were not available when searching on line.

Good luck

I've been searching over the last few days for availability to NYC - has been coming up with a calendar showing loads of available seats over the next month or two, now suddenly it shows the none available message all the time, for all classes of travel over the next 6 months or so - can't believe they'd have zeroed out all flights all of a sudden, am thinking there may be some sort of problem with it at the mo?

Old fashioned ways always work best eh!

The website appears to be working again for me now for what its worth, but for how long is anyones guess haha!

There was definitely a problem with the web site or the data behind it - as I tried a while later with the same dates that was showing no availability for reward flights and they were suddenly available again, and if I found a date with none then the calendar started to appear again.

I was pleasently surprised to find I was able to change the date on a U class companion reward for a fee of £25, reduced to £24.80 since there was a 20p tax reduction! The S class revenue fare cost me £90 to change though.
