We stayed the night before our flight at the Arora International which I had never stayed in before but I would certainly stay there again. I booked a premier room with late rooms and you certainly get a room with a view of Heathrow! :) Our room charge included breakfast but as it was our honeymoon, my husband surprised me with champagne and a bouquet of flowers! :D

We had dinner at the hotel that night and appreciated the breakfast in bed - mindful of the fact we needed to get to Heathrow to deal with check in etc, we aimed to get there for about 8.30am ish, we got to Terminal 3 and it was rammed!
All check in desks were rammed, couldn't believe it, note to self if I ever fly from Heathrow again, get in even earlier. So we waited to get checked in, that is to say we were on line checked in for the flight as I had done it at the Central Bus Station the night before but we didn't have boarding passes printed as I had forgotten to check in at home on line! v(
Anyway, that didn't really matter as bag drop was even more rammed! It actually took about an hour to get through all that plus security which meant we had about an hour to get our bits and bobs bought, this did force a bit of a jog to the gate in the end and not a performance I would like to repeat! ii)
So we were on board, alas we should have asked for the couples seats at the back beforehand but forgot (I don't do mornings very well!) and someone else got a pair as they did ask as the very nice cabin lady advised us, we'd have got priority as we were on honeymoon! Never mind, the person who was in our row of 3 wanted to move as they just wanted to sleep so they moved and we had the row to ourselves.

I had arranged for my husband to have a surprise of cupcakes and pink fizz delivered to him, he was well surprised when he heard his name over the tannoy, he looked like he was going to be chucked off the plane with a parachute! :o)
Anyway, we decided to leave the pink fizz to get really chilled and a very kind cabin lady got us a free glass of champers instead to share with the cupcakes which were very nice indeed!

We had a lovely meal going out and both choose sausage and mash, the flight was pretty smooth, hardly any turbulence at all. We both enjoyed the films and entertainment on board.
The only thing I noticed was that imap doesn't update itself while you are still in the system, it will update of you go in and out of it though, this meant that if Bermuda was there, I had missed it by a few hundred miles as I was expecting imap to update itself. Hmmm.... ii)

Before long, we were making our descent into Miami, great views of the coastline as per usual from Fort Lauderdale and then down the Miami Beach area and we landed on time. Hurrah!

I was very satisfied with the VS service yet again and with very chilled pink fizz on hand luggage, we set off to see what US homeland security would be up to with their finger printing, stamping, camera stuff.

Firstly ......... Congratulations ^) ^) ^)

It is always welcoming to read a TR recounting the experience in Economy - may who lurk are in the throws of planning their very first trip on VS and so such reports are immensely useful y) y)

Your tip about getting to Heathrow very early is particularly helpful - ONE HOUR to drop off the bags :0 :0

Glad that you were looked after on board

Thanks once again
