Virgin now allow you to check in via mobile phone. I will be on a train to Gatwick when the 24 hour window opens so intend to do it on my iPhone. I have only checked in online once before about a year ago and can't remember what information I am going to need to have to hand. I have input my API details and done an ESTA. Can anyone tell me? Also what happens about the boarding pass as I will be unable to print it?

They will be able to print you a boarding pass when you drop your bag at check in.

When I checked in online for my IAD flight last Friday, I didn't need to re-enter any other info having already entered all my APIS/ESTA info previously.

It didn't even re-ask me for my passport number.

Thanks to the tube strike, I was delayed getting to the airport this morning so I checked in from the taxi in the jam on the M25 on my mobile phone 2hrs 10 mins before departure. You just need your 6 character PNR and your name. It worked OK for me - albeit after pressing the "check in now" a few times and getting the message: "Sorry, the service you requested is temporarily unavailable". It worked in the end. There is then an option to "send boarding pass to email". As Tinkerbelle says they then print it for you at bag drop or check-in desk. The page looks like this

Oh, and BTW I got on the flight OK :)

Did you look at the seat map? When I look at the seat map via 'my booking' on my iPhone the scroll bar doesn't work as normal and so it is a pain to scroll down to the end of the plane.
