We booked our holiday to St Lucia back in March, through Virgin Holidays. The leader of our party pre booked seats in 'the bubble' and was very excited about it. After keeping an eye on 'Which Aircraft?' in the v-flyer toolbox I was pretty sure we would be on one of the Heathrow aircraft. I tried explaining to the rest of the party that it would be unlikely that we would be in 'the bubble', but the seats & entertainment would be better. Further calls were made to Virgin Holidays who kept saying we definitely had seats in 'the bubble'. Knowing the people I was going away with I decided to let them carry on believing we would be in 'the bubble'.
We did OLCI on Thursday morning but were unable to choose our seats. We had been allocated 32D&E (Great as we had a little one with us and could take advantage of the sky cot) and 33D,E&F. Surprise surprise no bubble! We were staying at the Hilton and so they decided we go to twilight check in and get it sorted. I'm sure the rest of my party were still expecting to be able to get moved upstairs. I stood at the back and let them get on with it. After some raised voices and waving of our Virgin Holidays information pack the lady at check in managed to calm our leader and moved 33E&F to 32A&C. (I would just like to say well done to her, and thank you. I didn't get any more mention of 'the bubble'). So off we went to the Hilton.
We had booked the V-Room so got up early to take advantage. As we had a small child in a buggy we got told to use the assisted security channel. It was so much easier.
After a quick look around duty free we checked the departure board, we had a 3 hour delay. So off to the v-room we went. It were so glad to be away from the hustle of the departure area. Plenty of food and drink was had by all. I would recommend v-room.
Our flight was finally called and people started leaving the v-room. One of our party had done a disappearing act so we stayed put until they turned up. We started off on the hike down to the gate. Priority boarding started as we arrived and we were soon on board and seated. Pre flight drinks were received gratefully. All passengers were boarded, doors closed and we were finally away.
The flight was pleasantly uneventful. The cabin crew were efficient throughout and helpful with the sky cot.
I decided to have the Chicken Biryani, which was very good.
The V-Port worked perfectly and I managed to watch 3 movies.
Landing was smooth and bags were waiting by the time we got through immigration. Bags were squeezed into a taxi and off we went for 2 weeks of sunshine.
