I'll be honest, the one thing I've never understood about VS is the fact that they seem to hate starting their rows of seats at row 1!

I think all of VS planes have row 1 apart from the 300, as with most airlines row 1 is normally a premium cabin.

Perhaps because that was in line with the original configs of the LHR 747s when rows 1-5 were in the bubble and row 6 was in zone A downstairs. IIRC row 6 became row 12 in those aircraft when the whole of the bubble was converted to UC

As a MAN to MCO type of person, I am eagerly awaiting the first trip reports about the A330 PE section.

Roll on April.

Currently only MCO has been confirmed for the new a\c, and with only 2 due to be in operation by June 2011 then it would ge unlikely for your flight to be operated by one.

So, v-flyers, your starter for 10:

Why, when the seat plan has been available for the past 10 or so on the VS website. can I not yet select my seats for my Spring trip to MCO? Can it really be that difficult to publish the map for seat selection?

Oops, that's 2 questions, sorry!

The obvious reason, though one we don't want to think about, is that they are not confident that the planes will begin to fly on time, and as advertised. :0

I hope that this isn't the case, and have no reason to believe it may be, but what other reasons could there be?

Seat maps (including allocated seats) are showing in ExpertFlyer so they are loaded into the GDS system, just not direct VS bookings yet.

Thanks for that, James. However, and with the greatest possible respect, I don't give a stuff what's showing in Expert Flyer.

When I raised the question with VS some weeks ago, I was advised that the seat selection facility would be available by early August. This would appear to have been someone being economical with the truth as, come early November, we are no further forward. :(!

Come on VS, grasp the nettle and let pax know what is happening.

:(! I am now starting to get well hissed off now, If other than VH are booking allocated seats for MAN/MCO for June 2011, after I have been waiting to choose mine, then I wont book any more holidays with them. :$ I think that they still may want some UC seats on this flight V75, they sell so well. I book all my Holidays through VS so do not want to miss my choice. They have been telling me it is not ready yet. :o) Dont think they are telling the truth.

Lucydog, ring Flying Club and ask to pre-select your seat. I did this afternoon and all they need is your VS booking reference and passenger names. The young lady who fielded my request dealt with it very professionally ^) although her response to my question as to when the seat plan would be available on the VS website was slightly less so. She advised that 'there have been some problems with the website today but it should be on there in a couple of days'. And this, following an e-mail from VS Customer Services to the Treelo household that the seating plan was now expected to be up and running by the 2nd week in Dec v(

I did as suggested by Treelo to Lucydog (I am getting as hissed off with this situation as she is!) and rang FC to no avail, they are unable to tell me about an upgrade (because I booked thru VH) and, even tho I have my locator number, they are unable to book me any seats for October 7th return MCO-LGW 'at this present time' ?| Can I call back next week :?
Any more suggestions anybody ?
