Typically there were issues on the Jubilee Line - this has to be the worse tube line in London, especially when I need to get somewhere. Luckily I had left plenty of time and therefore this didn't cause me any problems.

Arrived at the building site that is currently LCY. As a BA Silver Executive Club member went to the Club / Silver / Gold desk. Someone was checking in already, so once they had finished, I started to walk forward. This resulted in the person in the other queue very loudly telling me that I was not in a queue and that I should stop pushing in! The check-in assistant was not having any of that and pointed out that I was going to be checked in first!

The security at LCY is currently divided into two sections - the upstairs landside restaurant/bar has gone now. It was very slow and took for ever (surprisingly for LCY there were lots of people who didn't know what they were doing at airport security).

By the time I got through, the flight came up as boarding - this was 08:05. I thought I had a while as check-in only closes at 08:20. Wandered down around 08:15 to find that everyone had already boarded and I was on of the last to board. The flight was very quiet (less than a third full) - I had row 2 on the Embraer 90, which means that there is a huge amount of leg room.

After take-off, you could see how cold it was with frosts across the fields. Breakfast was served - yes a hot breakfast on a UK domestic flight (bacon, sausage, tomato, egg and hash brown with a bread roll, juice and coffee) - a great start to the morning. The flight was very quick - managed to do a little bit of work after the breakfast, but then it was time to land at Glasgow.

With the new planes, you can now use an airbridge which is great when it is raining (as it was on Thursday). Luggage was off quickly and into arrivals. There is now a Tesco Express - this is great for an airport, as the prices are so much cheaper than other shops around.

All in all a great flight - love flying from LCY as it is so much easier than LGW or LHR!

LCY is my favourite airport too.

It helps that we live only 6 stops away on the DLR so landing at LCY I'm often home within 20 minutes!

It's also the only airport I know of in the UK which has free wifi throughout and desks with power sockets which you can work at. BAA could learn a thing or two....
