The Journey from Times Square to JFK took around 45mins - when at Terminal 4 was greeted by Virgin staff in Halloween fancy dress - I am sure this would be the first and only time I would be checked in my a witch! She was friendly and offered some sweets from a pumpkin before I said cherrio.

The Clubhouse (this was my first visit to the JFK Clubhouse) was busy, though I managed to find a seat by the window so I could see Mustang Sally G-VROC)arrive. A Clubhouse burger, two mojito's and a glass of champagne later - it was time to board.

Greeted at the aircraft door by name and that set the scene for the flight - knew this would be a great flight.

Once in my seat in 15K (love the A-zone) - sleep suit, glass of champagne and newspaper offered and all accepted. Though we pushed back at 2036, take-off was 2123 due to congestion but a very quick flight time of 5hrs40mins was promised. The extra time on the ground allowed drink and supper orders to be taken - I was personally welcomed back by the steward serving my section and he thanked me for my loyalty to Virgin - I am only silver so was impressed by this.

Once airborne my grilled chicken salad, cheese plate and some fresh fruit arrived and everything was tasty and delicious. After take off, the FSM came around and introduced herself to everyone, shaking everyone's hand and taking time to have a few words with all in the A zone. She ran a very tight ship and it showed - the crew were all smiles, so so friendly and nothing was too much trouble =- so thank you Joanna (FSM) and Shane for a great flight - permission sought and granted.

Shane offered bakewell tart as a dessert and accepted this - it was delicious. My glass of port was topped up and my water glass never ran dry - a great crew and superb service.

Then because of the short flight time, made up my bed and managed a couple of hours sleep between the bumps. On waking, I decided to skip breakfast knowing I would use the revivals lounge so went off to brish my teeth - returning my bed had been cleared away and a glass of juice waiting on my drop-down tray - all without asking, great.

Joanna asked about V-flyer and told her I would be submitting a trip report. A friendly goodbye was offered with priority disembakation in operation.

I walked the long way to the UK border and was greeted by a football crowd of people, hundreds all queuing - did not get a fast-track voucher so simply showed by boarding pass and was through within minutes - the luggage waiting for me on the belt.

My first visit to Revivals - juice, coffee and sausage sandwich ordered and served quickly - just a short wait for a shower but sincere apologies offered and was on my way from the airport within the hour, watered, fed and refreshed.

A superb flight with a great team spirit onboard.

Sounds like a lesson in what is required for a first class experience. y)
