Right guys, I have had this clarified for me today -

The reward sector of the flight can be either the outbound flight OR the return flight!

So you can travel out on an X or lower class economy fare (if available), and return on a reward flight in T, U, or G class.

Yes - this is an option if there is availability outbound but not in-bound.

So you get no refund due to the restrictions.
Better ways of viewing reward availability would be much more useful IMHO. Other airlines manage this very well and it's always puzzled me why VS can't /won't.

I have to agree with this, somehow I did manage to come across a screen that showed reward seat availability today, of course I called to book two seats and one had gone, whilst my situation was kind off unique today and I do understand not getting the seats (20 minutes on hold with premier again) the calendar that did show up did show the total number of seats available for September, October and part of November.

While I am sure the total number of seats available was at one point higher, after seeing that, I will be taking my revenue business to another airline.
