That's because people can use it to make methamphetamine. I've been caught without ID before when buying it and it was pretty annoying.

I buy:
A+F/Hollister
anything that is made by Apple
Most of my camera gear (check out B+H Photo on 9th ave and 34th st in NYC)

Anybody buying A&F when in MCO, take a trip to Alamonte Mall off exit 92 of the I4. I went a few days ago and bought tops for as little as $10 each, I've filled one suitcase already. Some of the exact same items were, although still cheap, double that in The Florida Mall.

I also buy
Clinique
Carters Childrens nightwear
Lucky Charms
Fruit Loops
Jolly Rancher chews
Ice Tea Lemonade sachets
Cortizone cream
Nine West Shoes
Coach Bags
and far too much more

My last trip netted me:

Apple TV
Apple Magicpad
US iTunes cards
Melatonin
Walgreen generic Day/Niquil
Razor blades
New LED torch - uber bright
Bliss body butter
Jack Black shaving cream
Icebreaker socks
Q-tips 500 boxes
Energizer Lithium AAA batteries
Several packets of super sour warheads, to keep the office quiet.

Avoid the A&F on 5th Avenue, New York. Any shop that want me to queue up outside to go in won't get a dime off me....

The A&F nears the helicopters / Pier with the tall ships is generally quieter.

Couldn't find boxes of peanut butter Nature Valley bars anywhere. Usually for $0.99 to $1.49 but not paying nearly 3x the price to buy a box of 18 compared to the standard 6 packs.

As for Apple, seemed maybe £20 cheaper for a 32GB iTouch (depending on exchange rate plus charges).

Got my usual selection of things like coconut M&Ms and Pretzel ones plus Baby Ruths.

The South Street Seaport?

Prepare to be deafened by the volume of the music and take a torch if you want to see anything - that was my experience in February ! Or are all A&Fs like this? I only went in because a friend wanted a couple of t-shirts. I lasted less than a minute before heading for the exit !

Since I rarely go to the US now, I have shortened my list as some shops are not in Canada.

Costco - 500 pill bottles of painkillers / Clothes
Old Navy - Clothes for my daughter
Banana Replublic - Clothes for me
Any Department store for Jeans etc

Despite the much worse exchange rate than a year ago, some items are still cheaper in North America.

When in the US, I try to avoid buying anything Mac related, because even I think I have enough now. I no longer get discount at the Apple Store since changing companies, and I don't think my current employer would qualify for the discount as we are a competitor to the big grey fruit.

I also have shopped in B&H Photo in New York, but do check which day you want to shop there, as they follow what I suspect is the Jewish work week.

Tonty dear, you sound so much like me :D :D :D . They are indeed all exactly the same (and believe me I've been in loads all over the US due to DBs love affair with them). Too dark, too loud, but I do like the smell in them (Fierce spray is pumped out repeatedly :D :D ). It's the only thing that fits Mr DL :) .

You mean probably mean reese's peanut butter cups.

Personally, I can't stand peanut butter so they're not for me. And they're made by Hershey.... Yuk!

Though you'll be pleased to know that you can buy huge ones now - about the size of a paint pot lid and a pound in weight....

Nothing wrong with Clinque for men range, I will admit to using their M Protect moisturiser. ;)
