I too am now back to being a pathetic red having decided to fly with the opposition for the last 3 flights! and to be quite honest I havent really noticed any difference in the service I get on the telephone from VS ?|
Gold would be nice but I'm not going out of my way for it now that I only fly for pleasure and not for the grind of a job any more - Yeah

I fly May22 I am not a gold member, just a nobody red. Kids are fine, if there parents keep them occupied and not kicking the seats in front, or leaning over the seat pulling faces at people minding there own business. ): When i upgrade to premium economy,it is for a little peace and quiet, and a little bit of pampering. I am not a snob, but work hard, and enjoy my trips. y)

Lost my Ag status this year after I too defected to the dark side for two trips, so I have now reverted to Red. :# The lady at FC was still very helpful - we'll see how helpful when the seating plans are published.

Yes normally that is the way but in the cases above people have been booked onto the new two cabin configuration A330's that are going to MAN next year and the seat maps arn't yet available to use via 'manage my bookings.

Ur Why not. When other members have been kind enough to help,how ever possible, to try and sort out normally a simple request. ! Thanks to all of our members for your help. Flying club where very happy to talk to me.

As you know I've been checking my flights to see if I can book my return seats (on 330) for flight VS028 at 19.05 Orlando to Gatwick, this morning when I checked, my flights details have been changed by VS to VS028 at 17.55 !!!!!

I booked and have confirmation for the later flight (thank God) so rang VH and queried and was at first told I could pay an extra £51 each to change my flights to the later flight!! - No way, their mistake, not mine.

After refusing to pay any extra for a flight I have already booked and confirmed they said could I fax them a copy of my confirmation letter so that they could book me on the later flight at no extra cost - what a bloody shambles, what ever is going on at Virgin nowadays

So people, be warned, make sure you continue to check your flight details every now and again before you go or you could be in for a nasty surprise if your tickets turn up with a different time on them, not helpful if you have made plans round the original flight times!

I'm confused with what you mean? The VS28 always has a departure ex MCO at around 17:55 and it is the VS16 which is the later flight. Are you saying VH have moved you from the 16 to the 28, or the departure time on the 28 is different to what you were initially told?

What date are you travelling? VS may have cancelled one of the flights that day.

Orlando to Gatwick 7th October. They have said if I send one of my confirmation letters they will re=book me on the later flight at no extra cost - nice of them!

When you made your booking you would have chosen a specific flight number (16 or 28), not early or late departure, and I can't understand that is the flight changes time and you are still booked on the same flight number, how that is the fault of VH?

Yes VS28 has always been the (marginally!) earlier flight so perhaps just a slight schedule adjustment on the part of VS?

Snomo, if that hour & half is such a huge deal for you, and you feel you have no option but to move off your original VS28 to the later VS16, then remember you won't get the A330.

Changes to flight schedules are commonplace, I wish our departure time change (on a Greek domestic flight) this Christmas was as minor as an hour & a half.

Neil, when I booked back in June, I was told there was only one flight that day (probably cause they didn't know what was going to happen about the new planes) and I was told and paperwork confirmed 3 times, that I would be on VS28 at 19.05, hope thats clear now - I was given no choice of flights. I have made quite a few other plans around that time of departure and arrival, involving other people, which will now have to be changed thru no fault of mine - a minor inconvenience in some cases yes - but still an inconvenience and I do not make my holiday plans for the convenience of VS I make them for me.
However all is now sorted and I have received a nice little bonus out of it, thank you SRB, for VS's mistake y) .
I think in future I may return to 'doing it myself' when holiday planning.

Your right there James, as has been pointed out to me by a few others on another site, regarding the present state of the 747's on that route now, so assuming all is well and the new planes delivered on time etc. it may have worked to my advantage to have accepted the early flight now y)

Surely VS have to give them an idea of a schedule and how many seats they can sell? They don't just randomly sell seats on any flights. Sure VS don't sell seats until 11 months in advance, but they must know what their schedule is going to be a lot further in advance.

Well somethings gone wrong somewhere - and it's on the part of VH!

Who ever's fault it was, it has now worked to our advantage, managed to sort all the transfers out and also the dog kenneling and our friends who are flying their own plane down from PA to be with us have even sorted all at their end and are coming a day early so all's well that ends well ! ^)

Wow - that must be some schedule of military precision, such that a nominal departure time change of 1 hour 10 minutes de-rails everything.
