Do passengers still clap and cheer when landing?

I had clapping on Sunday landing into Budapest on Wizzair, I don't know why because when we came back into Luton last night, not a peep.
People are odd aren't they!

I can confirm clapping on landing on a VS flight in the last week.

I've heard it lots of times on VS& BA and only once after taking various LH/LX flights but it strikes me as more of a British thing.
Does it affect me? No so if they want to clap for 5 seconds then so be it it really doesn't matter.
