So I might be going to SYD around March.

Looking at the flights, it's the same price to return on SQ, than it is to do the whole trip on VS.

So, having never travelled on SQ, I just want to know if people think it will be worth going out VS in Upper and return on SQ in Business or stick to Virgin.

As I understand the TP will be the same, (can anyone confirm???) but I won’t get bonus miles from flying club.
Also I will have to send in my stubs (again is this correct?) and they are always something I like to keep so I would miss them :P

Thanks

I did exactly this in February this year and thought it was a great combination.
I wrote a TR afterwards which may be helpful. Going out VS you have the CH in LHR and HKG and whilst the lounge in SIN isn't as buzzy the airport is great and the A380 a marvellous experience on the way back. I booked through VS and my FC details were already with SQ when I checked in for the return flight and all the TP's were added automatically. However, if I remember correctly you only get 5 not 10.

This discussion came up a while ago.

I said it then and I would say it now- I would go with SQ over VS any day of the week.

The seat on SQ is a step above what VS currently offer as business seat.

I would agree with Will in regard to the A380 business seats on SQ. Like a big ol' sofa and your own personal plasma. Service, as you would expect, first-rate.

The differences aren't quite as clear down the back of the bus though. In Economy I'd be tempted to stick with Virgin.

SQ business seat on A380 all day long, although would be a shame to miss the Clubhouse on way out so perhaps VS out SQ return is a very good idea....

Hey, thanks for all your replies, I have decided to stick with Virgin to and from SYD. My reasons below:

1. Having looked all over the net and many people saying the seat is TOO wide and uncomfortable
2. There will probably be a sale soon after Christmas, other airlines haven't been included in the past
3. After phoning Virgin asking how many TPs I would get, they didn't 100% know as it depends on SQ. So if 2 people are on same flight booked through VS, one could be earning 5, the other 10 depending on what SQ said when they booked, is what I understood...

I've never flown SQ , so can't comment , but to add my experiences; I flew to SYD with VS in UC last May and thought it was excellent.
Clubhouse at Heathrow, excellent CC on the flight and lovely food and wonderful staff and showers in HKG really made it a great trip.
The return journey was made in the mere confines of PE sadly, so not as luxurious :D , but still a good experience.
