Hello all,

Long time lurker, just registered and first post.

After lots of revenue flights, Mrs. T and I finally have enough miles to book 2 Gs to SFO - first time in Upper.

We are booked on VS19 05/04/11 and VS20 12/04/11 - in Manage My Booking, it shows the type as a LHR config 744 for both flights.

If I search from the VS website as if I wanted to book a ticket, it shows the VS19 as a 744 and the VS20 as a 346 though on those dates?

From reading older posts, I have noticed that the type often changes on this route; is there anyway to know which is likely to be correct or should I just keep checking MMB to make sure I have good seats reserved? At the moment we have two seats at the front of the A zone on the main deck.

Finally, Mrs. T is asking me to find out about the 'St Tropez automatic spray tan booths' at the Clubhouse - I have searched the forum but the last posts about this were from a few years ago - are they still there? And is their use chargable?

Thanks!

Unless there are any tech issues or delays or ridiculously light loads so the aircraft can change at last minute.

But Tinks sayeth the truth so hopefully you will be on the big bird!

Thanks, looks like the 744 for both then. Hoping to get to Seattle and Vancouver while we are there, looking forward to seeing the Boeing factory.

Thanks Honey Lamb; Mrs. T says that the spray tan is still featured in the Interactive Tour of the Clubhouse on the VS website!

I don't know where she's seeing it. This is the list of treatments in the LHR Clubhouse

It's on the interactive tour on the steam rooms and tanning booth tab in the 'be pampered' section

(this openes the flash interactive tour)

I wonder how up-to-date that is since VS seems to have dropped the name Cowshed in favour of SPA and have introduced other products than Cowshed ones? I am pretty confident though that the spray tans are a thing of the past

Thats an odd one for sure.

I had look around a few dates on the planner and it states 747-400 outs with A346 returns. Seems pretty unlikely - for example the inbound to SFO on 12/4/11 is a 747 and the returning plane is listed as a 346 as you stated. Seems like fairly extravagant re-positioning if that is true.

I guess this means we can't trust the aircraft type that pops up when you select the flight number in the details window below the grid.
I was hoping to avoid a 343 in a future flight to Boston by clicking that red number and was considering myself very clever. :?

The Boeing factory is impressive. It only costs about $10 for a ticket but the tour companies are closer to $50... So if you're planning on renting a car, certainly drive up! Also recommend the Underground tour.
