A really friendly check-in at SFO and pretty efficient through security. The only disappointment is that FC AU doesn't give you any perks at the airport; to use the CH you have to be travelling in business and then pay an additional fee. Managed to find a quiet corner of the terminal though and connect to the free wifi, so all in all it wasn't too bad.

Boarding also very efficient and the on-board service (so far) has been great. I'm writing this trip report from the plane using the complimentary on-board wifi; a great innovation! The IFES is widescreen with a good selection of movies and tv shows which you can start watching from the moment you board the plane; there's even live tv. The IFES is also used to order food and drinks which a crew members brings along a few minutes later.

Virgin America brings fun back to the experience of flying in the US. Something which Virgin Atlantic has always been good at, but hopefully can learn a few useful tips from the new innovations VX has introduced.

In any case it would not have been available to you given your flight. The CH doesn't open till 2pm which is long after your flight departed. It used to open earlier when Aer Lingus flew the SFO-DUB route to accommodate their passengers but alas that route has been discontinued.

I agree with you, though about VX. I first flew them shortly after they started up and again earlier this year. They reminded me of VS in its earlier days and is a fun airline to fly. jetBlue also comes close
