I jumped on the BART around 06:20 and headed to SFO. It's about a 25min journey from the city to the airport. VX check-in appeared to be the only one open at that time of the morning in the international terminal.
I'd already checked in online so just had to collect my boarding passes. As this was only a day trip, I also had no luggage to check in.
As this was a morning flight, the VS Clubhouse is not available. It only opens around 12:30 I think.
Headed through security which was not busy. One thing to be aware off, even if you are only travelling domestically within the US, you still need your passport as ID. Other photo ID is not acceptable unlike domestic travel within the UK. I tried using my photo driving licence first but I still had to show my passport. Good job I had mine with me!
It was a short walk to gate A3 where the Dallas flight was just finishing boarding. The ground staff were amusing the waiting pax by offering various Virgin America freebies in exchange for chocolate

My flight was called at 08:15 offering pre-boarding to all First and Main Cabin Select pax. This was my first VX flight so I was looking forward to seeing the cabin. Funky mood lighting certainly makes the cabin not look like an airline cabin. I wonder if VX really need windows in their A/C as the blinds are closed by default and most remained closed during the entire flight.
I was in seat 2A, after reading various reports, row 2 seems more favourable than row 1, which I would also agree with.
Another thing which VX do which I've never seem before is keep putting announcements out during boarding to keep the line moving. I suppose this does speed things up. The flight was also full. During boarding Frst pax are offered a choice of drinks.
The flight to SEA is 1hr 40 mins and we left on time. Shortly after take-off the 'turn electronic items off' light goes off so if you have your gadgets within easy reach you can start surfing the web. Once again VX are offering free WiFi over the holiday period so it really would be rude not to use it!!! As this was my first time using in-flight WiFi, I was really impressed with the connection speed

The in-flight service was then soon started. Breakfast was served in First which consisted of a bowl of bran with yogurt and a berry sauce along with two slices of cake which was all very tasty.
The only thing that let's VX down (and I know this has been mentioned before) is the lack of instructions on how tocuse the seat. I had to ask the person next to me where the IFE screen was stored (in-between the seats under the IFE controller). The Red system is fantastic and something I hope we will soon see on VS.
Service was spot on during this short flight

Before long we where making our final approach into Seattle. We landed slightly early and I was soon heading to the Light Rail station to take me into the city. It's a fair treck to get to the station.
All in all a fantastic flight and VX was everything I expected and more. VS could learn a fair bit from VX.
