Hi,
Wife and myself are booked for a return trip to Las Vegas during march flying PE.

Outbound flight gave a fair choice of seats in the upstairs cabin...but the return flight VS044 on 10th March had the complete upper deck (PE) greyed out ?| ..and only the rear row of the two lower deck PE seats showing as available for selection.

We have chosen seats but I have revisited the booking a few times over the past week expecting to see either some of the upper deck becoming available ..or at least some of the other few downstairs PE seats being occupied ..neither of which has happened.

Just seemed a bit strange & wondered if any of you seasoned travellers had seen this before.

Thanks for reading & happy new year

Yes, Bat, this is not uncommon. For starters half of the upper deck is held back for VH passengers and is released just before OLCI begins. In addition 60% of seats are available for pre-selection and the remaining 40% are only available at OLCI. While you might not see any changes in the next few weeks except that no seats become available as that final row gets selected, the reality is that more will become available when OLCI opens.

My advice to you is that you check a couple of hours before OLCI and certainly do it when it opens and you should find better choices

Bat

We found ourselves in the same situation 18 months back on an (early) booking for LGW - BGI, with only the rearmost seats of the bubble available for selection. As HL says, keep checking, and certainly do OLCI. When we did, our seat assignment had magically moved forward to the front half of the cabin, with a good deal of choice to move elsewhere had we wanted to.
