Due to the bad weather on the East Coast after Xmas we had to cancel our recent planned trip to the States including internal flights with Continental. We asked for a refund 10 days ago and to date this still hasn't appeared in my account.

Does anyone know how long these things normally take?

Thanks

They can take ages! They just have to plought through them and one department checks the validity of the refund claim and then, one approved, it has to go to someone else to actually put the money back in.
If you book through a travel agent they take even longer as the communications between the airline and the agent only happens in a batch process once a month so it can be over 2 months for it to be applied for, checked and autorised.

At the moment things are taking even longer than usual due to the sheer volume of applications going through.

Good luck!

I recently got a refund from the 'United' part of United-Continental in two days. But then this was a fully refundable flight and I cancelled in the normal way using United's Web site - snow disruption will take a little while I should think.
