I think the answer is a 'no' but as I may get a free holiday out of it - I thought I would ask the experts.

My brother has booked a Z fare to DXB and K fare return - he is now considering Vegas instead.

Is it possible to pay a fee to change the ticket name - or is it a complete no go?

Is the only option either updgrading to a flexible fare and so cancelling and using another it time?

If it is just a cancelletion - do you get the taxes back?

I wonder why when these posts arise DXB is always the destination ... ?| .

Anyhow, simply it's a cancellation and taxes and fees back.

Changing names is not something VS allows.

Upgrading to a flexible fare and cancelling will only refund the difference between the current Z / K and the flexible fare (they've caught on to this one).

Shame you don't have the same name ... :w

Go on Facebook, find someone with your brother's name and see if they want to go to Dubai!
I know it's against the T&Cs but I would love to do this just once and see what the reaction is. I imagine it might be treated like one of those emails from the widow of a.rich guy in Africa who needs help getting some of his money!

I think with some tickets, if you upgrade to fully flexible then the original penalty still applies so if it was a non-refundable ticket, the entire amount is now non-refundable!
He could change dates, usually up to a year later on VS in case he has a change of heart. Otherwise it'll only be about £100 or so back because fuel surcharge is non refundable too.

I know. Wasn't the last time a GF who's BF bought the tickets as a surprise and she didn't want to go and prefered the US instead!

That might have been Vegas as the alternative too!

Its probably because dubai is a soul less hell, but in his case he 'weirdly' loves dubai - but now feels like a change. Guess it will teach him to purchase sale tickets.
