You may all think this is an odd and pointless question =P but i was wondering about contact lenses...i wear daily ones so will be taking a box of like 30 pairs with me on holiday...id like to take them in my hand luggage and wondered if they would stop me due to that liquid limitation thing? Ive tried finding out on the virgin atlantic site but theres no mention of contact lenses so is it safe to assume its ok?
unless each pair is in its own container with 100ml or more liquid then you will be ok.
Huzzah for International Jet-setting !
I always put mine in my clear plastic bag with other liquids, never had a problem.
That's a nice long holiday - but why in your hand luggage?
As tonty says, you should be fine, you might want to bag them in a clear plastic bag and take them out for scanning, as with other liquids. I take pairs regularly, but only a couple for emergencies in hand luggage.

There's a plane at JFK, to fly you back from far away
all those dark and frantic transatlantic miles

im paranoid that they will lose my luggage. Then ill be stuck without contacts for my holiday =P this would make me very sad and unable to see much of anything =P
Take a copy of your prescription with you and you might be able to get replacements out there.
Of course whether they will accept a UK one is debatable.

I carry my contact lenses in my checked luggage but always have a few spare pairs in my hand baggage which I always put in that plastic bag.
Keep a note of your prescription, why have the hassle of carrying them hand luggage?? as others say, few pairs in bottom of hand baggage, put the rest in checked bags, never been a problem..Will never wear them for travel anyway as air way too dry giving you very sore eyes, always revert to goggles.
If its fear of lost luggage, I think you'll have bigger issues than missing a few pairs of contacts...??

NH, Hobbit Land.
I always have to take pre-filled syringes on board which in total amount to more than 100ml but whilst I always declare it at check in I don't put them in the plastic bag and no-one has ever questioned it.
A purple boarding card, pre-booked cowshed treatment, glass of T10 with lime, a proper amenity kit, packet of polos and a Freedom Menu please!
