Early arrival in Cape Town - Tips

Hi all,

staring to prepare for my April UC trip to SA. Flight gets in early, and I don't plan to collect a car on day 1 - any tips for Cape Town hotels that will look after us until room check-in is available?

We stayed at the Cape Royale in Green Point, and they managed an early check-in for us. If they hadn't been able to do this, I guess we'd have gone for a mooch around the Waterfront until the room was ready.

As a side note, we weren't planning on collecting a car on arrival either, but after a bit of research into local hire companies it actually worked out easier and more cost effective to pick up a car at the airport, even if it involved not really using it for a day.

We stayed at Table Bay at the Waterfront and our room was ready when our driver delivered us there approx 40 mins after landing (I'd booked the hotel via VS too). Fabulous hotel and even if you can't check in early you're slap bang in the Waterfront area.
