Hi all

A friend and I are booked in UC on a fare that allows the CDC. We are traveling with 2 colleagues who are in PE. Now we all live around the same town, albeit on differing sides of it. Ideally we all want to get to LHR in the CDC (we have one per UC ticket I presume).

We are over the 75 miles limit - no problem paying the extra. The issue is that will VS be flexible in terms of who goes in the CDC - I assume each UC pax will be in their own CDC (or not?), but allowed to pick up a fellow traveller? Does it matter if the fellow PE traveller is the first to be collected by the CDC (as they are furthest from LHR)?

Thanks!

David

You friend in PE will have to travel to you to be abe to use the CDC; they will not collect unless it is directly en route.

It is one CDC per PNR and yes the entitled PAX has to be in the car.

If two (or 3) UC pax who are eligible for the CDC, want to share a car, they will pick you up separately.

But as HG says, if they aren't eligible they need to picked up at same time and place as the eligible UC pax.

Given that you are giving your PE friends a free ride to LHR and a visit to the CH as well I'd expect them to move heaven and earth to get to your house !

It's one CDC per eligible PAX, doesn't matter if on same PNR or not.

As someone who has literaly used hundreds of CDC over the last 2 and a bit years I have yet to see more than one CDC offered e.g. when travelling enfammille we all travel in J but they send one Vio (?) for the 5 or 6 of us not 6 cars and I regulary (always) use one when I land in the US and we are only ever offered one per PNR when it is me + 1 (or indeed 3) |:)

Maybe you just need to ask?
Or things have changed since your last eligible flight.

each pax can have their own car if they want/need.
Two businessmen, same PNR, one pick up in City, one from home, no problem!

Yes it is one car per eligable passenger. So if 5 people are on the same booking reference and you are all on either a J, D or R class fare then you can request 5 cars.

First and only time that I have done this was last summer when myself and two friends went on a golfing holiday (so lots of luggage) all booked on R class fares and we booked two cars from the same address. When booking the CDC was asked if we would all share one car but I stated that we had lots of luggage and there was no problem with us having two cars.

The CDC service is one per pax, not one per PNR.

Two J pax on one booking may want to be collected from two separate addresses, but share a car at the other end, hence why it's based on Pax rather than PNR.

In most cases however this is not required as Tristar will send a car large enough to hold 3 pax or more. However, if they all wanted separate cars, then that's well within the fare rules.

Hmmm interesting thought, it is not unknown for some famous people to book a seat for say, their guitar, so, following that train of thought, would the guitar be able to ask for it's own CDC ?

I can just imagine some huge family of say 10 people rolling up to Heathrow in a fleet of 10 CDC's... would be like the opening titles of The Apprentice!
