Emirates FF Miles

Hello!

I've been lurking around the v-flyer website for some time now but finally decided to join in this useful resource & community.

Here's a question...
In May I'm off to Mauritius and as VS don't fly there any more (boo!) we are flying with EK via Dubai.

Just wondering if anyone could suggest which FF program to join to put these miles in - I'm currently in Virgin FC, Delta Skymiles and BA Exec Club but Emirates doesn't partner with any of these. As I'm not planning on doing any Arab/Middle Eastern flights I'm not sure it's worth joining Emirates Skywards, is it?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks.

Maybe United? Then you have flexibility of using/earning miles within Star Alliance?

Strangely, I get any intra-US United miles credited to Skywards ... because I have nothing in *A. So I'd agree with the reverse as MrT suggests, Skywards are pretty useless unless you travel on EK frequently and their partner redemption rates are high (see Skywards on SAA for example!).
