31A is a 747 PE seat, so sounds like the agent got the a/c type wrong.

Expert flyer also shows as A346 but if I query it properly it comes up as 74N so yes, you are on a 747 and your agent doesn't know his Virgin product as well as s/he should!

Thanks both for the info.I did look at "Which Aircraft" on v-flyer which as far as can see shows VS020 operated by A346's.So do you think it's just a one off plane change I've hit on?

SFO changes back to a 744 for the summer season.

Just to reinforce what people are saying I'm booked to fly VS19 on July 1 and VS20 on July 13. Everybody shows my VS19 flight to be a 747 but everyone (i.e. Expedia and Expertflyer) shows my VS20 flight to be a 346 but the seat map on Manage my Booking on the VS website says otherwise and indeed I have booked the seats of my choice there on a lovely 747
